Silly old bear. Here I was thinking the pig from SimsPlus was cleverly crafted by someone in the Sims community and all along it was Patrick Barrett from Maxis. Duh. Of course it’s a new object, created with Edith which unfortunately isn’t available to the masses. Okay, so ignore my rants from the past few days. I didn’t realize it was his site. Now I can’t tell from their site if you’re allowed to clone such a creation because if you were, then dogs, cats and various other critters could be created (the images are just animated sprites so nothing hard to do with a copy of Poser and a few hours of work). In any case, I’m still pursuing my “real” pet idea and creating them in SimShow to see if they can be done. However, there’s that blueprint thing that is first.

blueprint is coming along as usual and I’m just continuing bug fixes, rolling up the SimExplorer and FAR Editor functions into it. It was getting silly to have to read the Sims directories multiple times so blueprint is just wrapping those functions up into one application as it makes more sense that way and since it doesn’t impact my development schedule for blueprint by creating any major delays, it seems like a good thing to do. I’m hoping to get a fully working version to the testers shortly, but there are still some weird memory leaks and crashes that I have to investigate. I’m also planning to get some new screenshots this weekend onto the site and perhaps some brand new and very unique objects to download that were made with blueprint (trust me, they’re very “neat”). Just doing some final debugging on those to make sure they play nice with the rest of the game. Until then…
