From time to time, I head out to Google and see how many hits my name brings up. I found some odd drop in numbers. While I’m constantly contributing new content, Google results seems to be dropping? Doing a vanity search for “Bil Simser” used to result in just over 1,000 web pages but now it’s reporting back just under 900 hits. The numbers in newsgroups hasn’t dropped though but what’s strange there is that I usually post about 15-20 new messages a day but the numbers from Google (about 2,500) is pretty constant.

MSN has a technology preview of their new search tool, a Google rival. A search on “Bil Simser” using their service comes up with about 1,400 hits.

Hiya. Thought you might be interested in this. I’ve solved most of my problems and hope to finish it within some days. After that I’ll have my beta testers handle it. Hope I can still remember whom I promised the test by MSN….. :-) (I forgot to write them down) but if it all goes well I might be able to release it somewhere in the beginning of May.

OK, some other thing now. I’ve just read an interesting e-mail about a new website with programs. Though the site is still being worked on (and there are some things not complete yet), it looks promising. Seems he made a nice tool for compression. Might be interesting for some people. Hey, I’m going to finish the Career Creator 2 now. I’ve only to make the import/export thing work fine now. The icons, chance card (those sudden transfers at the end of the career), the job data with the hours and the car they drive, the requirements, the texts in the game, it’s all done now. Do you miss something in this picture? Just suggest it by mailing to me. I’d be grateful if you see something that should be included. After all, we don’t want to wait another 2 months for Career Creator 2.1 that should cover missing features, don’t we? We want Career Creator 2 to have these features! But I hope it already does.

Heya. First off I need to get something straight. The post from yesterday was a copy of a message from the Sims newsgroup, not my personal opinions. People probably picked up on that if they read the post here in it’s entirety, but it’s been reposted several times on various places on the net and everyone seems to have the idea that I wrote it. I didn’t nor do I completely agree with some of the things it said and I certainly don’t think you should go out and stop buying Maxis products. It was a well written letter and if it goes anywhere, all the power to those that support it.

Secondly, yes blueprint is taking my highest priority and continues to do so. These new proggies are fun little projects that have been waiting in the wings and it’s time to unveil them. There will be no delays in blueprint because of them so calm down. Sheesh. You mention you’re doing something *other* than blueprint, and everyone sicks the dogs of war on you.

Also if you’re trying to reach me on ICQ I’ve switched over to Trillian (as it supports multiple chat protocols and I have a few people on MSN that I talk to) but all my contacts appear to be offline (which is next to impossible considering the number that I have). I fear it might be more problems with Trillian as the big corporations (Microsoft, AOL, etc.) have been flexing their iron making it difficult (if not impossible) for other clients to connect to their network. Sigh. The cost of free speech.
