Just when you thought you were getting caught up…

And here I thought I was almost getting caught up on tools and getting something released, Sims 2 comes around the corner and goes gold on me. According to the EA website, they’ll have it in the stores on September 17th. Off to Future Shop to grab a copy now and see what I can mess with.

I have to admit that I’ve been in the dark on Sims 2 and haven’t paid too much attention to it but it certainly looks interesting. I would be interested in seeing what you, the fans, reaction will be when you get it in your grubby little hands. Fab or flop? I’ll be happy when they finish SimAnt 2.

In any case, don’t worry, I have a lot of work left to do on The Sims and new and updated tools. Will be interesting to see what tools they package with The Sims 2 and if there are any gaps though. Let me know if you know something I don’t (which means anything since I know nothing).

And here I was worried that I wouldn’t have anything to play while waiting for Half-Life 2 after finishing Doom 3.

I’m still worried.

Tools moving forward and forums still here

Hi guys,

Just wanted to drop everyone a note that testing of the new SimExplorer is going well. Lots of feedback and some great discoveries by some people (it’s amazing what I miss when I’m staring at these things for hours on end).

I also wanted to say that the forums are still here and pretty lonely. Feel free to come in, chat, and do what you do best ask questions, suggestions, and make conversation.

Seeya!

New FAR tool

Looks like there’s no end to the endless stream of FAR tools.

I’ve made another one (yes yes yes!) it’s on my BETA test website: http://iffedit.simprograms.com. If it proves to work well, and if you prefer it way over FAR-2, then FAR-2 will be replaced with FARx.

It’s different from the other tools out there (as far as I’ve seen them) in this: my tool shows the folders in a tree window on the left (like explorer) and allows renaming and moving to directories in an easy way. You can add files simply by dragging them to the window.

Enjoy!

Tom.

Updating CC2 and other programs

Hi guys. Just a quick update for this weekend (I know, we haven’t been posting every day, blah blah blah). Tom is heading off to search for the abominable snowman so I’m going to be helping out his testers and any quick fixes needed for Career Creator 2. I don’t know the release he has planned, but it should be available soon.

I’m also pulling together blueprint for the testers this weekend after moving things around in the code. It’s pretty solid now so once I add a couple of more functional things that I broke it should be a short time for testing then releasing it to you. Then I’m off to get the other tools going again so watch for news and screenshots and all those goodies shortly. In other words, a pretty busy weekend for me. The usual.
